The location in the Auvergne.
Two points on the Accor website were misleading: 'the hotel is in the town centre'. No, it's 500m from the town centre. The rooms have 'automatic temperature control'. We assumed that this meant air conditioning. We were wrong. The rooms have heating but no air conditioning. With a room opening direct onto the garden/pool area we were not happy to leave the window open at night and the room was very hot. We eventually moved to an upper floor room where we could leave the window open at night. Management were very helpful but summer visitors should note the absence of air con.

From the small touches in the rooms, such as the travel cot provided for families, to the basic amenities that were well-maintained, it was clear that the hotel puts effort into ensuring a comfortable stay. Additionally, the location of the hotel was fantastic. Situated in the center of the village, it was convenient to have a good restaurant just across the street and easy access to skiing. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful common areas of the hotel. The building itself is truly gorgeous, and I loved exploring the elegant spaces. The pools were also a highlight, providing a refreshing and relaxing way to unwind during my stay. Additionally, the staff was friendly, competent, and always ready to assist with any requests. The cooked breakfast included in my stay was generous and delicious, ensuring that I started each day on a positive note. Lastly, having a private terrace in my room was a delightful surprise, providing a perfect spot to enjoy the surroundings.
Although there were a few drawbacks mentioned in the database reviews, such as the lack of air conditioning and the eclectic muzak in the corridors, these did not significantly impact my overall experience. The rest of the hotel more than made up for these minor inconveniences.

The hotel had a few areas that could use improvement, such as the limited breakfast options that left us wanting more. the decor in the corridors left a lot to be desired and took the shine off the impressive common areas.

The hotel's imposing grandeur was impressive and hard to miss. The dining room was a ballroom of opulence and comfort where we enjoyed an excellent meal with great service. The location was convenient for our needs and provided easy access to the area's top attractions.
Despite the imposing exterior and grand dining area, the bedrooms were a bit of a letdown. The rooms were smaller than expected and lacked extra amenities, such as robes and slippers. Similarly, the faded pool and hallways detracted from the overall experience.
